Introduction

Keeping abreast of the rapid development of new energy technology, Cham New Energy  has always adhered to a forward-looking framework in the field of advanced battery technology, and as one of the first leading intelligent manufacturers involved in the research and development of sodium-ion batteries in China, its industrialization has taken shape in the industry. Mianyang Cham , a subsidiary of Cham New Energy, was successfully invited to participate in the First Sodium-ion Battery Cycle Life Tests.

Mianyang Cham owns a leading digital smart plant in China, and is capable of high-quality mass production of cylindrical sodium-ion batteries. Meanwhile, gaining insight into the importance of a standard system for the industrialization of sodium-ion batteries, the company actively advocates the sound and orderly development of the relevant industries, and works with industry peers in pursuing this goal.

Although China's sodium-ion battery industrialization process has been accelerated, the industry is still in the early stage of growth and cultivation, and the relevant standardization efforts are in the infancy. In this context, it is necessary for government departments, enterprises and all sectors of the community to work together to create synergy and increase their efforts on overall planning.

To further promote the industrialization of sodium-ion batteries and the construction of the standard system and better understand the current situation of the industry, the Working Group on Standards for Lithium-ion Batteries and Similar Products under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, and China Energy Storage Alliance organized the first national sodium-ion battery product tests. The tests were performed by the CESI Laboratory of China Electronics Standardization Institute based on the cycle life program in the group standard General Specification for Sodium-ion Secondary Batteries (T/CNESA 1006-2021) issued by the China Energy Storage Alliance.

From June 13 to 14, 2024, the 3rd Forum on Sodium-ion Battery Industry Chain and Standard Development was held in Yangquan, Shanxi Province, hosted by China Electronics Standardization Institute and China Energy Storage Alliance and co-organized by Shanxi Hua Yang Group New Energy Co., Ltd. At the forum, the List of the Fourth Batch of Units Qualified by Sodium-ion Battery Tests and the List of Units Participating in the First Sodium-ion Battery Cycle Life Tests were announced, and the carbon footprint accounting system for lithium batteries was released.

The List of Units Participating in the First Sodium-ion Battery Cycle Life Tests, which is of great significance, has been used as an important reference for policy makers, financial investors, customer application enterprises, media and the public.
