Recently, leaders from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) visited Dongguan CHAM for on-site research to gain insights into the development status of the new energy and new energy storage industries, explore the opportunities and challenges for enterprises in the context of the “15th Five-Year Plan” (2026-2030), and gather the enterprise’s requests for government support.

During the research, the NDRC leaders first listened in detail to the enterprise introduction presented by Liu Jun, the Administrative Director of CHAM Battery. They focused on understanding the CHAM’s R&D achievements, technological innovations, market expansion efforts, and future development plans in the field of new energy batteries. The NDRC leaders highly praised CHAM Battery’s accomplishments in the new energy sector and pointed out that the “15th Five-Year Plan” will continue to adhere to fundamental issues such as innovative development, respecting laws, and practical objectives, especially in the field of new energy and new energy storage, which will be one of the key areas for industrial competition. The leaders emphasized that, in the face of dramatic global economic changes, rule shifts and numerous domestic and international market challenges, enterprises need to enhance their technological innovation and core competitiveness, while the government will ramp up support to jointly advance the high-quality development of the new energy industry.

CHAM Battery analyzed the development opportunities and challenges in the current domestic and international market environments. CHAM noted that although its products have been sold to many overseas markets, uncertainties in trade environments and variations in standards have somewhat hindered market expansion. Furthermore, with the dynamic changes in the domestic raw materials market and the vigorous development of the new energy industry, the battery industry is ushering in a new round of transformation in its competitive landscape. As an industry player, CHAM Battery is committed to continuously improving its competitiveness through bolstering technological innovation leadership, optimizing cost structure management, and flexibly adjusting production capacity layout to cope with the fierce market competition.

In response to the above market environment changes, CHAM has proposed a series of suggestions to the NDRC, calling on the government to further strengthen its support for the new energy industry, particularly in technology R&D, market promotion and international trade; meanwhile, attention should be paid to market structure and ensuring fair competition.

The NDRC leaders stated that they will carefully consider the requests and suggestions put forward by enterprises, and actively coordinate with relevant departments to provide more precise and effective support and services for enterprises.
